During the internship, I kept a blog to keep track of my impact as a technology leader at my school. Click the button below to be connected to my internship blog.
To gather feedback from my internship panel, I provided them with a Google Form that embedded my internship presentation as well as an option for providing feedback. The form is linked below for reference:
After presenting to my internship panel and receiving their feedback, I realize that there are many ways I can improve my impact as a technology leader. One of my panel members mentioned that in addition to the support I provided staff with Tech Thursdays presentations, I could create videos to supplement my presentation materials. By creating screencasts for the different tools I could possibly have more buy-in from the staff who can not attend Tech Thursdays for whatever reason. If videos and screencasts are made I will have a larger impact on the staff. It was also noted by a panel member that in addition to the surveys given in the beginning and the end, other informal surveys could be given to staff. As I continue my role as a technology leader, I will aim to gather as much feedback as possible from staff as it helps guide my support for them. In my internship proposal I wanted to provide more informal check-ins, but I noticed that it was difficult to have staff respond, even to quick items of business. Trying to get staff to fill out the beginning and end of the year questionnaires was very difficult, even with several reminders. Based on my experience and feedback, I will try to find ways to gather staff input in various ways. Overall, my presentation panel enjoyed the presentation. I value their thoughtful feedback and hope to use it to improve my impact as a technology leader.
