2.1 Candidates will be able to apply instructional design models to improve lesson design.
In ET 605, we redesigned a unit that we teach in our school. My partner, Katie, and I teach second grade. In second grade we have a butterfly unit to learn about the specific stages of the life cycle. In redesigning this unit we were to apply the instructional design models that we learned about in ET 605. For each of the lessons, we outlined the essential questions, objectives, technology standards, technology integration, materials, lesson plan, and assessments. By using instructional design models, such as SAMR, we were able to identify the role technology would have to transform and enhance teaching and learning. After the Unit Redesign was complete we each reflected on the process. Both the Unit Redesign and reflections are below.
